Maryam Behmard Maryam Behmard was born in Iran and immigrated to Canada at a young age. With a solid understanding of the struggles of people from a war torn country she has dedicated her life to exposing the realities of various political and social dichotomies around the world. After starting her career in print journalism, Maryam worked extensively in the Middle East and Southeast Asia on various investigative documentaries. As a producer for the Ichannel and Sun TV, Maryam developed national and international content shedding light on government accountability, human rights and social inequalities within Canada and abroad. As a news producer, Maryam moved on to the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and their flagship program Newsworld. Maryam currently resides in London, England. maryam@silentfilmproductions.com Fiona James Fiona James is a Guyanese born Canadian whose family immigrated to Montreal, Quebec in 1982, fleeing an era of ethnic conflict in Guyana The daughter of Aboriginal and Indian parents, Fiona’s empathy and understanding of injustice, inequality and intolerance suffered by marginalized peoples has led her to commit herself to documenting the lives of women and children particularly in developing and third world countries Her professional history includes writer, producer and production coordinator for the Ichannel, Pet Network, BPM and most recently journalist for Rogers television. She has dedicated the last seven years to partnering with organizations like World Vision Canada, Amnesty International, Doctors without Borders and the Red Cross.
